Faribault Police Investigate 3 Related Drive-By Shootings
FARIBAULT, Minn. (WCCO) - Faribault Police responded Thursday night to the third drive-by shooting in the past week.
According to authorities, a drive-by shooting was reported Thursday at 11:45 p.m. in the 900 block of Central Avenue NW. The apparent target was a single-family home with several occupants, including young children. The home was struck by several bullets, but no one was injured.
In the previous week, two other drive-by shootings occurred 11 blocks south of Thursday's incident.
Faribault Police Chief Andy Bohlen says his department is trying to determine the connection between the three shootings.
"This type of violent crime is particularly alarming and we need this dangerous person(s) identified and taken into custody as soon as possible," Bohlen said.
Witnesses reported seeing at least two people in a small, dark-colored coupe leaving the scene northbound on Central Avenue.
