Fargo Roller Derby Team Member Faces Theft Charge
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The former treasurer of a Fargo-Moorhead roller derby team is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the club.
Louise Jauss of Fargo faces a felony theft charge that carries a maximum punishment upon conviction of five years in prison. She is due to enter a plea on April 4.
Court documents say an accountant for the Fargo-Moorhead Derby Girls estimated that more than $21,000 was missing. An audit by an outside company later identified about $13,000 in "unauthorized transactions."
Jauss is accused of taking the money and using it for personal expenses.
Police say the woman who used the derby nickname VooLou Child told league members she was under the impression that if she repaid the money charges would not be filed, and she estimated she owed about $8,700.
