Fargo-Moorhead Stores Stocking For Flood Fight
FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- While cities in the Fargo-Moorhead area are preparing for likely spring flooding with activities like sandbag-filling, hardware stores are stocking shelves with flood-fighting gear and cleanup supplies.
Home Depot manager BJ Blanchette says he thinks drain plugs, sump pumps and generators will be hot items. He tells The Forum newspaper that the store has a good idea of what it will need because of its experience during the flood of 2009.
MAC's manager Glenn Metzger says some people have already bought supplies, but he expects most will wait until the last minute. He says in his experience, people buy only "when the floodwaters are lapping at their windows."
