Excessive Heat Warning For Twin Cities
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Swimming pools and air-conditioned spots are likely to be popular places Thursday and Friday in the Twin Cities when the scorching temperatures and humidity will combine to create heat indices of more than 100 degrees.
The National Weather Service issued an "excessive heat warning" for the metro area through Friday night. Temperatures in the 90s and high humidity could cause heat-related stress and illnesses.
The weather service has some common sense advice. Stay out of the sun, drink plenty of water and check on relatives and neighbors.
