Ex-Minn. Gov. Pawlenty Visits Michigan For Romney
JACKSON, Mich. (AP) — Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty is visiting Michigan for a pair of events for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's campaign.
Pawlenty has been named among possible running mates for Romney. He attended Wednesday's opening of a campaign office in Jackson and also had an appearance planned at a "Strengthening The Middle Class" event in the Kalamazoo County community of Portage.
Pawlenty was expected to be joined by Republican Congressman Fred Upton at the second event.
The appearance by Upton is a day after he moved on to November's general election by winning his primary rematch with former state lawmaker Jack Hoogendyk in Michigan's 6th U.S. House District. After Tuesday's win, he'll face Mike O'Brien in the general election.
