Several Companies To Give Employees Election Day Off
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Election Day will actually be a paid holiday for thousands of workers across the U.S. this year.
General Motors is one of many companies that give workers a paid day off on Election Day. Other companies include Ford Motor Company, Hearst Publishing, Patagonia and digital media company Thrillist.
Ford sent an email to workers telling them: "Every. Vote. Counts."
There is no federal law requiring that workers get time off to vote and state laws vary.
