Eden Prairie, St. Louis Park Approve SWLRT Project
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Two more communities are on board with the new Southwest light rail project, after St. Louis Park and Eden Prairie approved the new $1.6 billion project at their city council meetings Monday night.
The 16-mile line would run from downtown Minneapolis, through the western suburbs.
Minnetonka and Hopkins are the other two cities along the line. They've already approved the project.
There's only one major hurdle left -- the City of Minneapolis is expected to vote next month.
