Eden Prairie Man Killed In Minneapolis Shooting
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities have identified a man who was shot and killed Saturday afternoon on the north side of Minneapolis.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 36-year-old Steven Meyer of Eden Prairie. The incident happened just after 4 p.m. Saturday on the 4300 block of Girard Avenue.
When authorities arrived to the scene, they found a damaged SUV and a shooting victim inside the vehicle. Meyer was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he died about an hour later.
The medical examiner's office said Meyer died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen and that it was a homicide. There have been no arrests in the case and police have yet to learn exactly what led up to the shooting. The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Minneapolis Police.
