Eagan Police Looking For Suspect In Arson

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities in Eagan are asking for the public's help to find a suspect who is likely responsible for arson back in September. Police are hoping a picture of a bike likely used in the incident could lead to an arrest.

Eagan Police said an officer was on routine patrol during the early-morning hours of Sept. 8 when the officer saw the city's Historic Town Hall in flames. Fire crews were called to the scene and were able to put the blaze out. The building suffered significant damage, authorities said a majority of it was saved.

Authorities said arson is suspected, and a bicycle found near the scene likely belongs to the person responsible. Police said the bicycle is a 21-speed mountain bike that is blue and white with a black "Master" combination lock and cable wrapped below the handle bars.

Police said it may have been purchased from a Sports Authority store and would have been missing before the incident. The bike has a serial number  of G100200340. Anyone with information about the bike or the incident is asked to call Eagan Police at (651) 675-5700.
