Eagan Police Investigating Report Of Man Who Attempted To Lure Boy
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Eagan police are investigating after a 10-year-old boy reported that a man tried luring him into a car by offering him candy Thursday.
According to police, they received the report shortly after 4 p.m. of the incident that allegedly occurred in the area of Meadowlark Road and Meadowlark Curve.
There, the boy said at 9:07 a.m. a white man in his 20s or 30s with short reddish-colored hair offered him candy from his vehicle. He did not exit his vehicle and the boy was able to leave the area.
Officers were also told the man may have had a reddish mustache or goatee and was wearing a neon-colored shirt with a green baseball cap. It appeared he had an earring in his right ear.
The vehicle was described as a four-door, black pickup truck with rust above the passenger side wheel. It had tinted windows in the back silver striping across the lower part of the door, and there may have been a word that started with "C" written in black above the silver stripping.
Police say that this appears to be an isolated incident, but remind parents to always discuss safety tips with their children.
Anyone with information in this incident is asked to call Eagan police at 651-675-5700.
