Man Sentenced For Taking Lewd Phots Of Children
HASTINGS (WCCO) -- A 31-year-old Eagan man was sentenced to four days in jail and other terms for taking pictures of juvenile and adult females in bathrooms, the Dakota County Attorney's Office announced Friday.
Jason David Kohlwey pleaded guilty on Aug. 23, 2010 to two felony counts of invasion of privacy involving minors.
Some of the pictures were taken at a school where Kohlwey worked as a custodian.
"This is very disturbing behavior which directly traumatized one minor victim," said Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom. "While we are pleased to have brought the Defendant to justice, we believed more jail time was warranted for these serious crimes."
In addition to jail time, Kohlwey will have 30 days of electronic home monitoring and placed on probation for up to four years. He is also required to register as a predatory offender, have no unsupervised contact with women without prior authorization and complete sex offender treatment -- among other conditions.
Kowley will make his next court appearance July 26, 2010 in Hastings.
