Gov. Dayton Proclaims 'Bob Dylan Day' In Minnesota
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Gov. Mark Dayton is declaring Saturday "Bob Dylan Day" in Minnesota.
Dayton says Dylan -- who was born Robert Zimmerman in Duluth and raised in Hibbing -- was a true son of the Iron Range who spoke to a generation of young Americans.
Dylan will be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in Stockholm, Sweden Saturday, although he is not expected to attend.
Dayton will be in Hibbing Saturday afternoon for a ceremony and community celebration. The event starts at 3 p.m. at Hibbing High School.
