DWI Patrols Aim To Keep Halloween Weekend Sober
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's the biggest party weekend of the year, and the DWI patrols are ready.
Halloween parties will be in full-swing, and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety is hoping a new round of radio spots will help remind folks to stay off the roads if they've been drinking.
Department officials say 30,000 people are arrested for DWI in Minnesota each year, with drunk driving crashes killing 651 in the past five years.
If you're planning to drink, officials say to plan a sober ride home with a designated driver, cab, or public transportation before you head out.
