Duluth Zoo Facing Citation After Animals Drowned In Flood
DULUTH, Minn. (WCCO) -- The Lake Superior Zoo in Duluth is now facing a citation after several animals drowned there during this summer's flooding.
Officials with the U.S, Department of Agriculture said the zoo didn't have adequate shelter for some of the animals in its farm exhibit. Six sheep and four goats died during flooding that devastated northeastern Minnesota when more than a foot of rain fell in about 36 hours.
The zoo has since made updates and says it's now under code with the USDA.
