Duluth Student Hospitalized After Sub-Zero Night On Porch
DULUTH, Minn. (WCCO) - A college student is badly hurt after spending all night in the cold.
Nineteen-year-old Alyssa Jo Lommel was found unconscious on a neighbor's porch in Duluth Saturday morning.
The University of Minnesota-Duluth student had been dropped off at her own home more than nine hours earlier.
Temperatures had fallen to minus 18, with a minus 36 wind chill overnight.
Lommel is being treated at a Twin Cities hospital.
Her family says her hands and feet are so badly damaged, she may lose limbs.
