Duluth Prison Escapee Indicted
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Minneapolis man who escaped from prison could face another five years behind bars as he was indicted in federal court for fleeing his Duluth prison last month.
According to the indictment, Michael Joseph Krzyzaniak, 64, escaped Federal Prison Camp in Duluth as part of serving a 151-month sentence for a 2012 conviction of wire fraud and tax evasion. He was apprehended in a Burnsville hotel after six days on the run.
If convicted of one count of escape from custody, Krzyzaniak faces a potential maximum penalty of five years in federal prison, which may be tacked onto the sentences he's already serving.
