Duluth Police Looking For Missing 12-Year-Old Boy

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Duluth police are looking for a 12-year-old boy.

According to a police news release, Lyrik James Schmelz was last seen getting on the bus after classes ended Thursday afternoon at Lincoln Park Middle School.

When Schmelz' bus arrived at his stop, Schmelz was not on it.

Police say investigators have been checking numerous locations and following leads but haven't yet found him.

He's described as 5 feet tall and 120 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

The department asks that anyone with information call Duluth police at 218-730-5515 during the day or 218-727-8770 on nights and weekends.

A message left for a police spokesman Sunday evening wasn't immediately returned.
