Duluth Methadone Clinic Cited For 22 Violations
DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota officials have found 22 licensing violations at a Duluth methadone clinic already operating a revoked license.
State documents released Tuesday show the Lake Superior Treatment Center was cited for violations discovered during a review earlier this year.
Keith Koegler of the Minnesota Office of Inspector General says the citations are "serious and substantial" in a letter dated Nov. 6 to Florida-based Colonial Management Group, which owns the treatment center for narcotics addition.
Alleged violations include unauthorized disclosure of client records, improperly giving out methadone for take-home use and not keeping proper documentation.
The clinic did not return requests for comment by WDIO-TV or the Duluth News Tribune on Tuesday.
The state revoked the clinic's license after finding 50 violations in August 2012. It is allowed to continuing operating while the company appeals the order.
