Duluth Firefighters Rescue Capsized Kayaker
DULUTH, Minn. (AP) -- Duluth firefighters have rescued a man clinging to an overturned kayak in Lake Superior.
The St. Louis County sheriff's office got a report about 2 p.m. Tuesday of a man in the water, clinging to the kayak and calling for help.
Firefighters were able to rescue the 24-year-old man, identified as Marshall Hansberry of Duluth. He was taken to a Duluth hospital and treated for hypothermia.
The sheriff's office says Hansberry reportedly was wearing a life jacket but was not wearing cold weather protection gear.
