Driver, State Trooper Hospitalized In Mendota Heights Crash
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities say a state trooper and a driver were both hospitalized Sunday after the driver hit the parked trooper at a cross over in the east Twin Cities metro.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened Sunday afternoon on Interstate 35E near Wagon Wheel Trail in Mendota Heights. Authorities say a state trooper was parked in a crossover area when a driver heading northbound hit the trooper on the passenger side door.
The State Patrol says the trooper and driver were taken to a hospital by ambulance. Neither the driver or the state trooper suffered serious injuries.
What led up to the crash is under investigation.
