McCoughtry Hits Game-Winning 3, Dream Rally Past Lynx
ATLANTA (AP) — Angel McCoughtry made a game-winning 3-pointer with 1.5 seconds left and the Atlanta Dream closed on a 13-4 run to beat the Minnesota Lynx 76-74 on Tuesday night.
McCoughtry drove the lane, passed it to Tiffany Hayes and went to the corner for a wide open 3-pointer. Maya Moore had a 3-pointer hit off the back of the rim at the buzzer.
Hayes paced Atlanta (2-2) with 20 points and McCoughtry scored 12 of her 18 points in the fourth quarter. The Dream snapped a nine-game losing streak in the series.
Rebekkah Brunson sank a baseline jumper to give Minnesota a 74-69 lead, but Jessica Breland answered with a layup in traffic at the other end. Atlanta won a jump ball with 45.4 seconds left and McCoughtry hit a pull-up jumper to make it 74-73. Breland blocked a shot to set up McCoughtry's winner.
Moore scored 18 points for Minnesota (2-3) and Sylvia Fowles had 13 points and 13 rebounds.
