DPS: 2 Children Unaccounted For, Firefighter Injured After Lucan Fire
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two children are still unaccounted for following a residential fire in rural Lucan Wednesday afternoon, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.
Lucan fire crews responded to the fire at 2:35 p.m. When they arrived, the two-story single family farmhouse was fully engulfed.
Authorities say two adults and several children were able to escape the house without injury, but two children are still unaccounted for.
One Vesta Fire Department firefighter was injured when he slipped on the ice. He was taken to Redwood County Hospital where his condition is unknown. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.
The cause of the fire is now being investigated.
Lucan is a located 22 miles east of Marshall, Minn.
