Downtown To Have Busy Thursday With Vikings Game
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Vikings will be in the national spotlight Thursday night. That means a busy night in downtown Minneapolis.
In addition to the regular rush hour traffic, we'll also have tens of thousands of fans heading to the Metrodome as the Vikings are hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That means tailgaters will be out in full force by late afternoon and traffic will be quite the mess both in and heading into the downtown area. If you're coming down for the game or to tailgate, you're encouraged to get down to Minneapolis early and travel in carpools.
It's the team's first home prime time appearance in three years, and if you can't go to the game it will be broadcast on the NFL Network.
If Minnesota wins Thursday night, they would have a 6-2 record heading into their bye week. Kickoff is slated for about 7:20 p.m. Thursday.
