Do You Want To See Bin Laden's Photo?

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- There are mixed emotions from people in the Twin Cities when it comes to releasing photos of a dead Osama bin Laden.
Some say releasing photos would be fine with them and others say that's something they wouldn't want to see.

"Truthfully, I don't think it's necessary to celebrate anyone's death," said Lee Hutton, walking through downtown. "Whether it's the public enemy of the world or a young kid who's a casualty of war, I would disagree with that."
Hutton says recent news of bin Laden's death has resurfaced old feelings from the Sept. 11 attacks.
"Let's mourn 9/11. Let's try to move on as we continue to heal through that process," said Hutton. "But seeing proof just creates a tumble effect and we're getting away from world peace."
Cheryl Westcott from Canada was walking with a friend in downtown and agreed with Hutton. She said seeing the photo could cause problems.
"It's just sensationalism," said Westcott. "I think he's gone; he's done his damage. I really don't think we need to look at it, as long as we know he's gone that's what counts."
Westcott said seeing a picture is not going to further her belief that bin Laden is dead.
"I don't need to look at it," said Westcott. "As long as we know he's gone that's good enough. I think it would just stir up more trouble."
Jamie, who didn't want to give his last name, said he wouldn't mind seeing a photo. He did, however, say he's confident the government killed bin Laden.
"I trust the government, so it's no big deal," said Jamie. "It wouldn't hurt. If he's dead, he's dead."
