DNR: Deadline Monday In Southern MN To Remove Your Ice House
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Ice fishers around Minnesota have one more day to get their shacks off the ice.
Those spending the weekend on a frozen lake likely have a trailer with them to take their ice house away. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources said the deadline for ice anglers to get their houses off lakes in the southern two-thirds of the state is midnight Monday.
Anything left on the lakes after Monday could be confiscated and owners can be fined, and that fine includes trash that's left behind.
The deadline to have ice houses off lakes in western and northwestern Minnesota is Friday, March 5, and in northern Minnesota by the Canada border it's March 31.
