Dive Team Searches For Danielle Jelinek In Bone Lake
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The search for a missing 27-year-old woman continued Sunday, as dive teams comb a lake near where she was last seen.
The family of Danielle Jelinek sent a photo of the Washington County dive team searching Bone Lake. Authorities said Monday they didn't find any trace of Jelinek.
Jelinek went missing nearly a month ago. She was last seen with Aaron Schnagel, a former boyfriend who lives in Chisago Lake Township.
Schnagel was arrested on drug charges and was listed as a person of interest in Jelinek's disappearance.
According to court documents, investigators searched Schnagel's property in the days after she was reported missing. Authorities were looking for the drug ecstasy but instead found marijuana, as well as Jelinek's purse, shoes and cell phone.
Investigators also discovered traces of blood in Schnagel's home and car which were sent to a lab for testing. But authorities say the amount of blood found doesn't necessarily indicate any wrongdoing or any kind of struggle.
Documents also say Schnagel told authorities that he was with Jelinek on Dec. 8. He said they were drinking, and then went to bed around 2:30 a.m. When he woke up the next morning, she was gone.
The documents also include comments from Jelinek's family who claim that Schnagel was abusive in the past.
Authorities are continuing to pursue any possible leads in hopes of finding Jelinek.
