DeRusha Eats: Vincent A Restaurant's Crepes
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Holidazzle is a time for families to enjoy the downtown stores and restaurants.
But one fancy local dining spot is selling curbside -- and it's a hit.
Outside Vincent A Restaurant, the top-notch Nicollet Mall French restaurant, they've been serving crepes for the past three years.
The recipe and idea comes from chef and owner Vincent Francoual.
"It's like sandwich in America," he said. "Every family has someone with great crepes, for me, it's my aunt."
The crepe batter itself is simple -- flour, eggs, sugar and just enough vanilla. $5 gets you a delicious ham and cheese crepe, or a sweet, decadent Nutella crepe.
"It's a labor of love," he said. "It's not really about the money. It's great for the restaurant, great for community; make some traditions."
Vincent said his kid customers in year one are now college students. And it exposes his excellent restaurant to a whole new group of eaters.
The crepes are on sale every night of the Holidazzle parade, right at 11th and Nicollet in front of Vincent.
Vincent is one of 40-plus restaurants with gift card bonus deals this month -- you spend $100 dollars and get $25 free.
