DeRusha Eats: Date Night Edition
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- This week, it's all about DeRusha Eats: Date Night Edition.
With the State Fair going, that's traditionally one of the slowest times of the year for non-fair restaurants, and it's a great time to try out a place you've been waiting to get into.
Here are the Twin Cities' hidden gems.
Sun Street Breads Pizza Night are on Mondays -- from 6 to 8 p.m. you get a 10-inch pizza at just $10.
La Belle Vie has been around for 15 years, and it's known for its amazing fine dining. Pop into the lounge at night for a cocktail and some of the best desserts in town. Chef Diane Yang makes delicious pastries for just $10.
Icehouse, the restaurant put together by the team behind Be'Wiched Deli, is on 26th and Nicollet. The food and service is among the best.
Its broiled shrimp have a dash of paprika that give it a Mediterranean flavor. Their brussel sprouts tasted like bacon, but it was done with smoked garlic and sherry. They serve $5 sipping shots, too.
Yang does the desserts there, too. The salty caramel macaroon ice cream sandwiches are $8 of heaven.
And Lucia's has been a mainstay in Uptown for a long time, and for good reason. Their seafood crepe and summer squash pancakes are incredible.
Also, take this time to get into the Butcher and the Boar, or the Strip Club in St. Paul.
