DeRusha Eats: Buttered Tin
ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – This week in DeRusha Eats, Jason headed across the Mississippi River to the Lowertown area of St. Paul to a café that has baked its way into the heart of the neighborhood.
While Buttered Tin is known for its sweet treats, it also has an award-winning sandwich. There is something about the winter that makes Minnesotans want to eat baked goods, and the Buttered Tin takes full advantage. Alicia Heinz left a career in corporate HR to bake and took over Buttered Tin.
She, along with a business partner, opened the restaurant in the middle of 2013. The Thanksgiving sandwich is their signature dish, while the bakery still remains its foundation.
