Dem Ally Focuses On GOP-Run Legislature With TV Ad
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A group working to put Democrats in control of the Minnesota Legislature is launching a TV ad attacking Republican legislative majorities for the 2011 state government shutdown and property tax increases.
The Alliance for a Better Minnesota released the ad Monday. It will start airing on Wednesday.
Spokesman Ryan Furlong says it's the first time a legislative ad campaign will run on broadcast TV in Minnesota.
He wouldn't say how much the group is spending overall or how long the ad will run, but says the run will be limited. He says future ads will focus more narrowly on specific races.
TV station filings last week showed Alliance for a Better Minnesota buying more than $180,000 worth of ad time on two stations in the next two weeks.
