Deer Hunter Killed Near Bemidji
BEMIDJI, Minn. (WCCO) – A hunter was shot and killed Saturday morning while deer hunting in rural Bemidji, Minn.
According to the Beltrami County Sheriff's office, the shooting was reported at approximately 9:01 a.m. in Turtle River Township, 9 miles northeast of Bemidji.
The male victim was found dead at the scene. A male suspect was identified and released. The two men were acquaintances, but were not hunting together.
The names of the two Bemidji-area men involved will not be released until the victim's family is notified.
The incident occurred on public land, and is currently under investigation by the Beltrami County Sheriff's office.
