Deadline Looms For MN Deer, Wolf Lottery Permits
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Deer Hunters Association reminds hunters this is the last day to apply for lottery antlerless deer and wolf hunting permits.
Executive Director Mark Johnson points out that about the half the state is now covered by lottery deer areas, which means hunters need to enter the lottery for a chance at receiving permits to take does in them. He says a lot of hunters haven't applied yet because they don't realize Thursday is the last day, and that lottery areas have increased.
Johnson also notes this is the deadline for entering the lottery for one of the 6,000 wolf permits the state will award for its first wolf hunt since wolves came off the endangered list.
Lottery applications are being taken by license dealers, online and by phone.
