Dayton, Vikings' Peterson To Raise Food Shelf Cash
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Gov.-elect Mark Dayton and Vikings running back Adrian Peterson are appearing together on Tuesday to raise money for food shelves.
The St. Paul fundraiser for northeastern Minnesota food shelves is hosted by incoming Democratic Senate Minority Leader Tom Bakk.
The Vikings are one of the event's corporate sponsors, along with companies including Minnesota Power, Thomson Reuters and U.S. Steel.
Bakk says the food aid is needed as families struggle with unemployment and rising food costs. It's the fourth year he's hosted the event.
