Dayton To Meet With NFL Commissioner In Minn.
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Gov.-elect Mark Dayton says he will meet with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell before the Minnesota Vikings play outdoors at TCF Bank Stadium on Monday.
Dayton said Goodell requested the meeting as he visits Minnesota for the Vikings-Bears game.
The team is expected to push lawmakers to pass a bill for a new stadium in the upcoming session, bolstered by images of the deflated Metrodome.
Dayton says he hopes the Vikings will continue playing in Minnesota long enough for his grandchildren to go to games in 50 years.
In a statement from his transition office, Dayton repeated his parameters for a new stadium: no general fund money, and a public benefit that outweighs the public's cost. He has yet to spell out details.
