Damaging Storms Move Through North Minn.

BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) -- Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds knocked down trees and power lines in northern Minnesota early Friday.

Beltrami County emergency government officials say some of the worst damage was in Bemidji where several unoccupied cars were hit by falling trees. Some debris cannot be cleared from roadways until utility crews can untangle power lines.

Assistant Emergency Management Director Christopher Muller says there are reports of isolated flash flooding. He says Beltrami Electric and Ottertail Power are working to restore power in southern Beltrami County. There was no immediate word on how many people were without service.
