Crossroads Mall Locked Down After Reports Of Man With Gun
ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) -- The Crossroads Mall in St. Cloud was on lockdown Thursday evening after reports of a man with a gun in the building.
According to a statement from St. Cloud police, two men approached a couple outside the food court who were arguing and one of the men lifted his shirt to show a gun in his waistband. He did not point the gun at the couple and did not threaten them. Both men then entered the mall through the food court.
Police say the mall was evacuated just after 6:30 p.m. as a precaution while officers search the building for the two men. By 8:30 p.m., officers searched the mall and weren't able to locate the men. Investigators say there were no other reports or complaints about the men inside the mall.
Crossroads mall was also the site of a Sept. 17 attack, where a man -- who investigators believe was radicalized by ISIS-inspired propaganda online -- stabbed 10 people before he was shot and killed by an off-duty police officer. None of the victims died.
