Crimson Baseball Motivated To Return To State Championships
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Maple Grove was a state runner up last year in baseball, but the memory of losing that final game is motivating the team this season.
Mitchell Bauer, a Crimson pitcher, says the team's goal is to be state champions.
"We got the conference champs," he said. "Now we're working on sections."
But the section the team is in is no layup – not with Coon Rapids ace Logan Shore and much more.
Coach Darby Carlson said it's not going to be easy.
"There's a lot of good athletes on a lot of teams," he said.
But the skills of others won't deter the team that was so close the clinching the championship last year.
"We're very motivated," said Brady Jacobs, an outfielder. "Everyone's got it hung up in their locker...pictures from last year."
