Crime Notes: Troopers Hurt In Crashes
ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) -- It's been a tough winter for Minnesota State Patrol troopers responding to crashes. The numbers of troopers hurt at the scenes of crashes are way up this season and grew again with the latest snow storm.
One trooper, Mike Bell, was taken to the hospital when his squad was hit by a semi truck on I-94 near St. Cloud late this morning.
A second trooper, Brian Bammert, had to jump to get out of the way of a car that came at him on I-394 in Golden Valley Sunday evening. He got cuts on his hand and drove himself to the hospital.
These latest incidents are reminders of the need to move over or slow down if you see flashing lights on emergency vehicles on the side of state roads.
