Repairs Begin At Robbinsdale Sinkhole
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Crews are now working to repair a Robbinsdale sinkhole caused by a water main break.
On Saturday, the sinkhole opened at County Road 81, between 36th Avenue and Highway 100. The road is currently closed at 42nd Avenue North, between Broadway Avenue and Lakeland Avenue.
Crews began removing the failed 36-inch water pipeline Monday to inspect and repair other utilities affected by the water main break on Tuesday. Tuesday, repairs will be made to those utilities.
Authorities said the roadway should reopen to traffic next Wednesday in the late afternoon – weather and other factors permitting.
Drivers should follow marked detours in the area until repairs are complete.
