Crews Battle House Fires Overnight
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Fire crews battled a number of house fires overnight going into the July 4th holiday.
First, firefighters battled a fire late Sunday evening at a home in Brooklyn Park.
The fire happened at about 11 p.m. on the 2600 block of 94th Circle. Flames burned through the back walls of the house and spread into the attic. It took them about an hour to get the fire under control.
Neighbors said four people live there and they all got out OK.
The fire chief says the cause is not known.
Then, at around 1:30 a.m. in Chaska, firefighters found flames coming out the roof of a home on the 1400 block of Crest Drive.
A 911 dispatcher called the home and was able to alert the homeowner of the fire.
A man, woman and teenage girl all got out safely.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to an inside wall and attic.
They did have to cut holes in the siding and the roof to get the fire under control.
