Crews Battle 3-Alarm Fire At Brooklyn Park Apartments
BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (WCCO) -- Fire crews battled a three-alarm fire at an apartment complex on the 5500 block of Brookdale Drive early Friday morning.
The fire started on the second floor of the Moonraker Apartments complex and spread upstairs to the third, scorching the roof line. The fire began at about 2:30 a.m.
At least a couple of apartments were damaged, and an entire building containing 36 units and more than 50 residents was evacuated.
The American Red Cross said they were assisting with 12 people total -- 7 adults and 5 children -- who were displaced from their homes because of the fire.
Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control by dawn Friday morning.
There were no reported injuries.
