Cravaack Has $1.1M For Final Push In 8th District
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Republican Rep. Chip Cravaack says he started October with $1.1 million in the bank for the final weeks of a tough race against Democrat Rick Nolan.
Cravaack's campaign reported its fundraising totals for the latest quarter on Thursday, ahead of Monday's filing deadline with federal campaign regulators.
The campaign said the first-term incumbent raised $471,000 from July through September, bringing his total fundraising for the election cycle to $1.9 million.
Nolan is expected to lag in the money chase. Federal candidates face a Monday deadline to report their fundraising to federal campaign regulators.
Outside groups have already spent more than $4.3 million on the race in northeastern Minnesota's 8th District, a battleground in the parties' fight for control of the House.
