Crash Closes Part Of I-694 In New Brighton
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A fuel tanker crashed Thursday morning, spilling fuel and causing the closure of part of Interstate 694 in New Brighton, Minn.
The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. The truck also reportedly caught on fire.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the tanker was carrying 7,500 gallons of gasoline and 1,000 gallons of diesel.
Westbound I-694 was closed at Interstate 35W for clean-up. Traffic was being diverted onto northbound I-35W. At one point during rush hour, traffic was backing up to Lexington Avenue.
The road had reopened by 8:30 a.m.
