Cottage Grove Man Pleads Guilty In Child Porn Case
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 31-year-old Cottage Grove man pleaded guilty in Minneapolis Federal Court on Tuesday to distributing images and videos containing child pornography.
Steven Michael Borgan Jr. pleaded guilty to one count of distributing child pornography. He was indicted on Aug. 8.
According to the plea agreement, Borgan admitted that on Nov. 3, 2010, he distributed images of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct via the Internet. He also admitted to having more than 8,000 images and 205 videos of child porn.
Authorities discovered the account Borgan used to share the child porn in November of 2010. A search warrant was executed at his home on July 25, and that's when all the images were found.
Borgan faces up to 20 years in prison on the charges, including a mandatory minimum sentence of five years.
