Cops: Pot Growing Operation Busted In Alexandria
ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (WCCO) - Police discovered an outdoor marijuana growing operation while serving a search warrant for an Alexandria man Friday, according to authorities.
Alexandria Police, the Douglas County Sheriff's office and agents from the West Central Minn. Narcotics Task Force were executing a search warrant Friday for 46-year-old Warren McArdell at 9290 State Hwy 114 SW in Alexandria.
While searching for McArdell on the property, which is owned by 53-year-old William James Doraska, authorities discovered a marijuana growing operation.
After obtaining a second search warrant, officers found 44 large, mature plants growing outdoors on the property, processed marijuana, four guns and surveillance equipment.
McArdell was eventually located and arrested for an outstanding warrant, and more charges will be filed relating to the evidence found at Doraska's property.
Authorities say more arrests in connection to the growing operation are expected.
