Coon Rapids Man Sentenced For Stealing From Vulnerable Adult
ANOKA, Minn. (WCCO) -- A 39-year-old man has been sentenced for stealing over $65,000 from an 82-year-old vulnerable adult, the Anoka County Attorney's Office announced Monday.
On Friday, Steven Miller of Coon Rapids was specifically sentenced to 90 days in jail, $1,085 fees and $12,000 in restitution. A prison sentence of 21 months was stayed.
Miller admitted to swindling the vulnerable adult, who is now deceased, of jewelry and a vehicle.
"Unfortunately the victim in this case passed away before Mr. Miller was tried for his offenses. I am satisfied that Mr. Miller is still required to pay restitution to the family, along with completing his jail sentence," said Anoka County Attorney Tony Palumbo.
Miller was also placed on probation for 10 years.
