Controversy Over Burnsville School Official's Severance

BURNSVILLE, Minn. (WCCO) -- There is more fallout from a controversial severance package given to a Burnsville school official.

Parents and teachers are demanding answers after human resources director Tania Chance resigned six months into her job and received $254,000 dollars in pay and benefits.

District officials say they can't provide details because of data privacy rules. Burnsville State Representative Pam Myhra wants to change that.

"We're talking over a quarter-million dollars. That's a lot of money for a school district to have to pay out" said the Republican lawmaker.

Myhra is introducing a bill on Monday that would require full disclosure for any future payouts over $10,000.
