Community Spotlight: Park Center Cheerleaders Go Pink
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Each week on WCCO-TV's High School Sports Rally, we say thanks to a school organization that's giving back.
Our Community Spotlight Award this week goes to the cheerleaders at Park Center High School. They're getting ready for a big fundraiser on Wednesday.
Park Center High School's cheerleaders are making ribbons to sell at the game against Robbinsdale Armstrong, which is at 7 p.m. next Wednesday.
Money raised by the ribbons, along with wrist-bands, stickers and suckers, will go to the Susan G. Komen foundation for breast cancer research.
The hard work already paid off with a $500 Community Spotlight Award from Sieben, Grose, Von Holtum and Carey.
"It's really given a good feeling to the whole school. Everybody, it's like they just wait for this game because they can just come and every, even all the guys, they're all in pink," said Kari Cherioli, Park Center's cheerleading booster. "We've seen some crazy pink things last year and they just, it's a great feeling to see all the high school kids involved."
