Community Spotlight: North St. Paul Spikers Volunteer For Good Cause
NORTH ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- Volunteering makes a team stronger. That's the message from this week's Community Spotlight Award winner.
The volleyball team at North High in South St. Paul is busy on and off the court. They recently went to Feed My Starving Children to package meals for kids in Africa. They also raised $700 for the breast cancer research organization, "Dig Pink."
Those good deeds deserve recognition. That's why we decided the Polars should get this week's $500 Community Spotlight Award.
"It was a lot of fun, actually. It was way more fun than I was expecting, and we all just felt really good afterwards because we know that our parents support us and the community does, and so we wanted to give back to the community as well as other places internationally," said Morgan Brin with the North St. Paul volleyball program.
As for the on-the-court season, the Polars finished 20-9 overall and took second in the Classic Suburban Conference with an 11-3 mark.
