Cold Case: Magdaline George
(WCCO) -- St. Paul Police will open a cold case unit this spring to review unsolved homicides. The 1990 murder of Magdaline George is one of the cases already getting a fresh look.
George, whom everybody called "Lil' Baby," was found stuffed in a closet of her eastside apartment.
Her niece, Tiffany George, made the horrific discovery when she opened the closet to get a jeans jacket to wear to school. She was in seventh grade back then. She's now 30 years old and studying criminal justice at Metropolitan State University. Caroline Lowe is on the community faculty there.
Tiffany George brought up her aunt's murder during Lowe's class on the news media last fall, before then contacting St. Paul Police officials who met with her and the victim's daughter, Rose George, and reopened the 1990 case.
Investigators hope DNA evidence at the scene or someone who has information on the case will give them a lead. If you know anything about who killed Magdaline George, call Sgt. Tom Bergen at the St. Paul homicide unit. The number is (651) 266-5650.
